At Hemsec, quality is paramount and embedded throughout our processes, helping to ensure that all product leaving Hemsec is of the same high quality.
From routine QA testing carried out by our dedicated in-house Quality Control Technicians to QC checks throughout production and external testing by UKAS-accredited facilities, our approach enables us to continually monitor product quality and act quickly if an issue is identified.
For our customers, this means they can always rely on the quality of the product they receive.
Why does in-house testing matter?
We have a dedicated team of Quality and Technical Assistants, enabling us to carry out routine testing in-house rather than having to send samples to a third party.
Our in-house team routinely tests the density, compression and tensile properties of our products to check that they comply with the relevant standards.
Keeping this testing in-house means we can get results faster and, if testing identifies an issue, react more quickly. It also means we can continually monitor the quality of our products.
For our customers, these are the practical benefits of having this capability in-house: continual monitoring of product quality, faster results and a faster reaction time if an issue arises.

Quality checks throughout production
Our in-house laboratory testing forms part of a wider series of quality checks throughout production.
Our Production team continually carry out line checks and final inspections, while our Quality and Technical Assistants undertake internal final inspection audits every week.
Alongside these checks, we follow a strict internal audit process that covers each part of the production process. Where required, non-conformances are raised, which is important in helping us continually improve our processes.
This means quality is checked at all points throughout the process, rather than relying on one check alone.
What happens if a product doesn’t meet the required criteria?
If our laboratory testing shows that a product has failed to reach the required set criteria, the product is quarantined and isn’t sold to customers as prime product.
Sometimes, this means we must delay a customer order. We do this with our customers in mind because we only want to release top-quality products.
It’s a clear example of what our quality processes mean to us and for our customers: if a product doesn’t reach the required set criteria, it isn’t sold to them as prime product.

External testing of Hemsec products
Our in-house testing and quality checks are supported by external testing.
All Hemsec products have been subjected to external testing by UKAS-accredited facilities. This includes all required stress tests, thermal testing and fire testing.
For all our testing, we comply with the relevant standards, regulations, certification and accreditation requirements.

What does this mean for our customers?
Bringing testing in-house means our dedicated Quality and Technical Assistants can continually monitor product quality, get results faster and react more quickly if an issue is identified.
Throughout production, further checks and inspections take place, supported by our internal audit process. And where laboratory testing shows that a product hasn’t reached the required set criteria, it is quarantined rather than sold to customers as prime product.
Alongside external testing by UKAS-accredited facilities, these processes help ensure that all product leaving Hemsec is of the same high quality.
For our customers, the result is straightforward: they can always rely on the quality of the Hemsec product they receive.
