Hemsec Achieves Gold Standard for Workplace Wellbeing Through Working Well Partnership in Knowsley

Hemsec is proud to announce that we have achieved the Gold Standard for Workplace Wellbeing following a rigorous assessment by Working Well, an initiative delivered by the Knowsley Chamber of Commerce.
This achievement reflects our continued commitment to creating a positive, supportive, and inclusive workplace – reinforcing why working at Hemsec means being part of a business that genuinely puts its people first.

Supporting Wellbeing in Knowsley and Beyond

Working Well was established to help organisations embed wellbeing into their workplace culture and support long-term employee health and happiness. The programme recognises that when employees feel supported, valued, and safe at work, the positive impact extends into their home lives and the wider community.

By partnering with Working Well, Hemsec is strengthening its employee wellbeing strategy while contributing positively to businesses and communities across the Knowsley region.

A Rigorous Workplace Wellbeing Assessment

As part of the partnership, Hemsec underwent a comprehensive workplace wellbeing assessment designed to evaluate how effectively we support our people.

The assessment considered a wide range of areas, including:

  • Workplace wellbeing policies and procedures
  • HR practices and people processes
  • Ways of working and leadership approaches
  • Facilities and employee support initiatives

We were told from the outset that this would be a challenging assessment, particularly as it was Hemsec’s first time being assessed. We were initially aiming for Bronze – which we recognised would have been a significant achievement – and ultimately achieved Gold.

Hemsec Awarded Gold Standard for Workplace Wellbeing

We are delighted to confirm that following this detailed review, Hemsec has been awarded the Gold Standard for Workplace Wellbeing.

This exceptional result is a powerful endorsement of the work taking place across the business to ensure our employees feel supported, safe, valued, and cared for. It also highlights our ongoing focus on wellbeing in the workplace and creating an environment where people can thrive.

A Message from Ella Barton, People Operations Director

Ella Barton, People Operations Director at Hemsec, said:

“This is a direct reflection of all the hard work done by the People Operations team and the wider business this year to make Hemsec a great place to work.

Our mission is to positively impact our employees at work, so they feel supported, valued, safe, and cared for; ensuring that this sense of wellbeing extends into their home lives too.

I am so pleased with the outcome of this assessment. Achieving the Gold Standard demonstrates that we are making meaningful progress for Hemsec and our fantastic People.

There is certainly more to come. This is the start of an exciting journey, and we look forward to partnering with the Working Well team as we continue to move forward.”
